How Florida grades schools
The Florida Department of Education grades each school from A to F based on the share of possible points it earns. Points come from state test results, learning gains, science and social studies scores, acceleration and, for high schools, graduation rates. The School District of Palm Beach County kept its A grade for 2025-26, and 143 district-operated schools, or 84%, earned an A or B.
The cut-offs differ by level. For 2025-26, an elementary school needed 62% of points for an A, a middle school 64% and a high or combination school 65%. The percentage is more useful than the letter when you compare two A schools, so it is shown in the tables below.
Elementary school grades
Every elementary school in the table earned an A for 2025-26 except J.C. Mitchell, which has held a B since 2022. Boca Raton Elementary moved from B to A two years ago, according to local reporting.

Olympic Heights Community High dropped from A to B for 2025-26 after two years at A. Boca Raton Community High and Spanish River have held an A for at least five years. A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High is a lab school run by Florida Atlantic University, and it is open to students across the district by application.

How to check which school a home is zoned for
- Enter the full street address in the district's Find My School tool. Don't rely on the school names in a listing.
- Check for pending changes. The district reviews attendance zones every year through its Advisory Boundary Committee, and it held rezoning workshops for 2025-26.
- Call the school's registrar if a home sits near a boundary, and ask what proof of address they need.

Choice programs and deadlines
The district says any student can apply to any available choice program in the county, whatever their zoned school. All choice and career academy programs use a lottery. For the 2027-28 school year, the application window runs October 8 to December 4, 2026, and you need a Palm Beach County student ID, which can be requested from September 8 to December 4, 2026. Choice transportation is available in set zones, so check it before you count on a program across town.
