Mandarin sits in the far south of Jacksonville, bordered by Beauclerc to the north, Julington Creek to the south and the St. Johns River to the west. The name is used loosely. Wikipedia's narrow definition counted about 9,000 residents in 2020, but many people use "Mandarin" for everything along San Jose Boulevard south of I-295.
